The public is invited to join the Inns of the Gettysburg Area for a Lincoln at Gettysburg event on Saturday, February 4. The fourteen member B&B’s are now taking reservations for a weekend stay or in some cases a Saturday night only stay in conjunction with the Saturday event. Tickets are available for the general public as well.
Saturday morning is free to tour the historic Train Station where President Lincoln arrived in town and the Wills House where he spent the night of Nov. 18. Both properties are restored and give an interesting preview to the luncheon presentation by John McTague, a Licensed Town Guide, who will take us on a virtual tour of the National Cemetery, which will prepare us for a self guided tour of the cemetery after lunch.
We meet for lunch at 11 AM at the Dobbin House with John’s presentation first, followed by a luncheon buffet during which each guest will be introduced to the President. After lunch we will be entertained with stories from the President including his Gettysburg visit. President Lincoln is portrayed by Robert Costello.
Cost for the package is $40 per person for adults; $30 for children ages 8 and under.
Please contact any of the member properties for a room reservation and to book the Lincoln at Gettysburg package. Please visit www.gettysburgbedandbreakfast.com for a list of participating bed and breakfasts. Phone Eileen Hoover at 717-337-9508 for more information. A limited number of tickets are available for those unable to spend the night at a B&B.
